Field days are supposed to be fun beautiful sunny day. When the kiddos get to run and play and enjoy the first days of summer. Parents break out the sunscreen and shorts for the first time and head up to the school to cheer their kids on.
This is what we got instead this year. It snowed, it sleeted, it rained not one ray of sunshine. It was a balmy 21 degrees out. Field days were no picnic in the park this year.
But they still served popsicles afterwards hate to break tradition!

The hailstorm in Colorado that broke windshields made the news here in Seattle. So I guess if you didn't get beaten to a pulp at field day with hailstones, it was a good day! (Can't say I miss those events :)
Hmm, could have been Salt Lake. That's the kind of weather we've ben having.
Brrr! Reminds me of all those soccer games in the snow when it would have been more comfortable playing on the team than cheering our children on. There are some advantages to being an empty nester (although we would give up those advantages in a flash if we could be there to cheer our grandchildren on in any form or condition).
